and Uncle Parks Burke. Nancy was raised by her Uncle Forest and Aunt Rena Rials Walling, Ronnie Carroll was adopted by Fannie Maude Bennett Cogdill (half sister to Emmett Franklin) and her husband Burton Cogdill.

MRS. FRANKLIN DIES AT ELKHART
Mrs. E. D. Franklin, 26, daughter of Mrs. Fannie Walling of Elkhart, died Wednesday morning in a Freeport Hospital.
Funeral well be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Church of Christ in Elkhart.
Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery.
Mrs. Franklin is survived by her husband; three sons, Emmett Jr., John William and Ronnie Carroll Franklin of Brazoria; four daughters, Peggy Laverne, Joe Evelyn, Ernestine, and Nancy Sue Franklin of Brazoria; her mother; five brothers, Levi Walling, Elkhart; Forest Walling of Red Town; J.P. Walling, Rawls; Norman Walling, Paris, and Cliff Walling, Houston; a sister, Mrs. Parks Burke, Houston.
Pallbearers: Homer Coleman, Tommie Grigsby, Travis Rials, John Gunnels, John R. Rials and J.D. Axum.
When the train arrived at Elkhart Depot. Fannie Bennett Walling was waiting at the depot and remarked "their bringing my baby home". Indeed she was brought home never to leave again. My mother. NB
