Jay Clifford Rickman, 76 of Spavinaw died Sunday at 11:40 p.m. in the Jane Phillips Episcopal-Memorial Medical Center.


Rickman was born May 10, 1913 at Pineville MO, to Emmett and Maude (Catlin) Rickman. He grew up and received his education in Pineville MO. He moved to Bartlesville in the mid 1920's, he worked for National Zinc Co. He married Ethel A. Watts in 1933 at Bartlesville. They lived in the Bartlesville area. Mrs. Rickman preceded him in death on November 10, 1972. He married Zora Stewart in 1973 and they have lived in Bartlesville since. He retired from National Zinc Co. in 1975 after 44 years with the company. He also was preceded in death by a sister and seven brothers. He was a member of the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors includes his wife Zora Rickman of the home; one son Geary Rickman of Bartlesville; a stepdaughter, Martha Lowry of Del City; three brothers Clyde Rickman of Chautauqua Kansas; Emmett Pearl Rickman of Dallas Texas and Rex Rickman of Pineville MO; a sister Alice Thomas of Bartleville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Memorial has been established with the Heart Fund in care of Susie Tallent, Weststar Bank, P.O. Box 999 Bartlesville Oklahoma 74005.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Gary Richardson of the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home.
