Mrs. George Heyl, 44, passed away Saturday in the Hawarden hospital following a short illness. Her funeral was held Tuesday, December 24, at 1:00 p.m. in the Methodist church with Dr. G.S. Bruland officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of Dow Funeral home.
Mrs. Ivan Noe was organist and Mrs. Peter Schemmer was soloist. Pallbearers were Marvin Waterman, Roland Waterman, Dick Waterman, Denny Waterman, Bruce Waterman, and Jim Schwiesow.
Mrs. Heyl was born Wanda Maxine Waterman on January 11, 1924, in Hawarden. Her first marriage was to John Blankenship, who died December 10, 1967. She was married to George Heyl November 8, 1968.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Vickie) Schiefen of Hawarden, Mrs. Gary (Jeanne) Gevik of Waverly, and Miss Lynette Blankenship, at home; two sons, Charles and Danny, both of Hawarden; her father, Marvin Waterman of Hawarden; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Schwiesow and Mrs. Audrey Brice of Hawarden, Mrs. Henry Renken of Laurens, and Mrs. Francis Drague of Garden Grove, California; four brothers, Curt and Raymond of Waterloo, Merlyn of Hawarden, and Nolan of Marshalltown.
