Age 80, a daughter of the late William and Katie Myers Sayers.

She was a charter member of the Christ United Methodist Church and enjoyed many Bible study groups and the church crafts groups.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Cooper, Sr. on December 1, 1993; also 6 brothers, Harry, George, Lester and William Sayers and Eddie and Jimmy Sayers in infancy; 3 sisters, Anna Mae Shrum, June Cooper and Leota Hulings.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue Carroll and her husband Paul of North East; a son James Cooper, Jr. and his fiancee Patty Whipple of Erie; 2 brothers, Everett Sayers and his wife Mabel of Mumford, N.Y. and Russell Sayers and his wife Shirley of Summerville, Pa.; 2 sisters, Mabel Fingado and her husband David of Mechanicsville and Shirley Evans and her husband Steven of Gillette; 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and a close life long friend Phyllis Stahlman of Erie.

Burial will be in Erie Co. Memorial Gardens.
