She graduated from Chester High School in 1937. Wanda married Lloyd Eugene Craig on May 8, 1942. To this union six children were born: Leila Maxine, Alice Marie, Micki Lyn, Kenneth Ray, Anita Kay and Lonnie Dean.
Wanda returned to the Chester community after living in California for 20 years. She was a member for many years of the Chester United Methodist Church; the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, Aerie 935 of Redondo Beach, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lloyd, brother Donald; sister, Wilma; daughter, Alice, and grandson Monte.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Leila Forbes, Georgia, Mrs. Richard (Micki) Smith, Tyler, TX, Mrs. Michael (Anita) Weant, Tustin, CA; two sons, Kenneth and his wife Ruth, Hebron, and Lonnie and his wife Roberta, Munden, KS; one brother, Doyle George, Belleville; two sisters, Roma Francis, Mission, KS, and Winona Prothro, Belleville, KS; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, plus several other relatives and a host of friends.
Services were held Saturday, April 8, 1989 at the Chester United Methodist Church, Rev. Truman Bachenberg officiating. Organist, Mrs. Dolan Frye and singers, Mrs. Wilbert Crouse and Mrs. Jack Long. Casket bearers were Don Vostrez, Brian Vostrez, Raymond Bowman, Richard Smith, Larry George and Reiner Hein. Interment was made at the Chester Cemetery.
