Mrs. Louise McAferty
Mrs. Louise Mary McAferty, 81, 1135 College, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, at a Topeka care facility.
She formerly worked as a nurse in North Topeka several years.
She was born July 7, 1903, in Topeka, the daughter of Fred and Emily Witham Boutwell. She lived in McLouth 52 years before she returned to Topeka in October 1984.
She was a graduate of the Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Topeka, and worked as a public health nurse. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Daylight Circle Club, both at McLouth.
She was married to Harold O. McAferty Jan. 26, 1929, at Liberty, MO. He died Dec. 1, 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Reita Dorei, McLouth; three sons, Elmer McAferty, McLouth, Roy McAferty, McLouth, and Edgar McAferty, Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Christine Van Hook, 1135 College; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, McLouth. Burial will be in the McLouth Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Hampton-Barrett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in McLouth.
