Roy B. Boutwell, 66, Mapleton Depot, R.D., died at 12:40 am Friday, Feb. 21, 1975, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for one day.

He was born June 1, 1908 in Topeka, Kansas, a son of Fred W. and Emily A. Boutwell. He was united in marriage August 2, 1937 to Helen P. Clevenger of Mount Union.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sisters: Mrs. Cuthbert (Reita) Nairn, Douglasville; Mrs. V.V. (Christine) Van Hook, Topeka, Kansas; Mrs. H.O. [sic] (Louise) McAferty, McLouth, Kansas; and Mrs. Ben (Bessie) French, Madison Heights, Michigan.

He was of the Protestant faith and attended Grace United Methodist Church, Mapleton Depot. He worked as a herdsman for 12 years at the Masonic Home at Elizabethtown and then was employed at the Hutchinson Shirley Ayr Farms, Mount Union, R.D. At the time of death he was the DHIA supervisor for Southern Huntingdon County.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 24 at 1:30 pm at the Heath funeral home, Mount Union. The Rev. Clarence A. Chubb will officiate and interment will be made Tuesday morning at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
