In 1885 Thomas Frame donated a parcel of his homestead NW-18-11-24(-W1) for a cemetery. His son Willie, had died of appendicitis in 1884, consequently became the first person buried there.
The original gifted plot did not extend to the north boundary of the quarter, and consisted of about 1.8 acres. (about 0.72 hectares) In 1919, the R.M. purchased an additional area from the Frame's, which, was 0.6 (about 0.24 hectares) acres on each side of the original plot. This brought the north boundary to the edge of NW 1/4 and the total area to three acres (1.21 hectares ) as it is today.

A part of the town's story and those of its inhabitants from the early days of European settlement through roughly 2011 is told in the volume "Proudly We Speak - A History of the Rural Municipality of Woodworth", especially starting on page 139. As noted above, there is more information available in the related volume entitled "History of Lenore and Districts". That book includes a list of known burials.
Free digital versions of these and many other Manitoba local history books can be found online in the University of Manitoba Digital Collections. There is also a list of such books organized by district and town name on the Manitoba Historical Society's website on their page entitled "Finding Aid: Manitoba Local History Books".
A list of burials in this cemetery is available from the Manitoba Genealogical Society (reference #0738), transcribed by a member or members in 1992 and updated in 1995. Also available to MGS members is a searchable online database named the "MGS Manitoba Name Index" (or MANI). Some additional information is contained in the 1996 MGS publication "Carved in Stone: Manitoba Cemeteries and Burial Sites"(revised edition, Special Projects Publication, 106 pages).
