Couch and Storms families from TN, KY, MO, & west

These are my paternal ancestors and their relatives. My earliest known Couch ancestor is Jacob Couch, who lived from about 1730 to 1797 and left a will in Greene County, TN in 1797. We believe he is of German ancestry and that the surname may have been something like "Kauntz," or "Kaunze," or similar, and some early records in Tennessee have the name as "Couts".My gg-grandfather, John Couch (known to genealogists as "John Couch III," since his father and grandfather were also John Couch), migrated sometime between 1846 and 1850 from Greene County Tennessee to Sullivan County, Missouri, and then to Livingston County (Chillicothe). After he fought in the Civil war, we do not know for sure what became of him. The last know communication was a letter from Cotton Plant, Arkansas in 1867 and then he has not been found, for sure, after the 1870 census. My great-grandfather, Joel Alexander Couch, also fought in the Civil War and otherwise lived almost his entire adult life in and around Chillicothe, MO. My great-grandmother, Elizabeth Jane Patterson, from Florissant, St. Louis Co., Missouri, married Joel in 1870 and they both died in Chillicothe between 1814 & 1816.My grandparents, Albert Patterson Couch, Sr. & Elizabeth Blanche (Storms) Couch, married in Kansas City, Missouri in 1903 and migrated out west to Southeastern Washington with her parents and sisters and brother in about 1906. Our family's "home-base" for the past century has been Walla Walla, Washington ('the city so nice they named it twice'). This is my Virtual Cemetery tribute to my Couch and Storms ancestors and their families.
