Bobby Joe Baker 1930 - 2007
Bobby Joe Baker, 76, died on Friday, January 12, 2007 at Stillwater, Okla. Services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Highland Park Free Will Baptist Church, Stillwater, Okla. with Dr. Norman Richmond and The Reverend Jonathan McEntire officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Stillwater, Okla. with Strode Funeral Home handling all of the arrangements.
Bobby was born on October 5, 1930 in Enid, Okla. to Charley Lowell Baker and Frances Wilma (Gordon) Baker. He married Jane Evelyn McLaughlin on June 5, 1949 in Ripley, Okla.
He attended school in Ripley and graduated from Ripley High School in 1948. He lived in Mehan, Orlando, Crescent, Stillwater, and Duncan. He liked to play music and play baseball. He worked as a carpenter, farmer and oilfield worker.
Bobby was a member of Free Will Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bill, Johnny and John Baker; and two sisters, Charlene Dean and Joann Gray
Bobby is survived by his wife, Jane Baker of Stillwater, Okla.; two sons, Charles L. "Chuck" Baker of Stillwater, Okla. and Barry A. Baker and his wife, Lynda of Stillwater, Okla.; three grandchildren, Amber Baker of Stillwater, Okla., Krista Becker and her husband, Travis of Yankton, S.D., and Tim Baker of Yankton, S.D.; three great-grandchildren, Ashli, Chloe and Tori Becker of Yankton, S.D.; four brothers, Jim Baker and his wife, Opal of Perkins, Okla., Jack Baker and his wife, Nancy of Virginia Beach, Va., Jerry Baker and his wife Roberta of Glencoe, Okla., and Rick Baker and his wife, Sally of Jay, Okla.; two sisters, Marjorie Walters and her husband, Leon of Stillwater, Okla. and Shirley House and her husband, Ronnie of Henderson, Ky.
Pallbearers are Gary Baker, Kerry Baker, Walt Sumner, Mike Collier, and Jerry Phillips.
