Mon, Nov 26, 1990, Wayne Co Press. Graveside services for Robley C. Ewing, 79, of Carmi, were held Tuesday morning at Pleasant Grove Cemetery south of Fairfield. Mr. Ewing died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov 25, 1990 at his home, after a long illness. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lou Horn, of Fairfield; six sons, Glen, Bud, Caroll, Danny and Jackie EWING all of Fairfield, and Fred Ewing of Cisne, IL; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Elliott, Albion; and Mrs. Veda Elliott, Fairfield; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
A former Fairfield resident and carpenter, he had resided in Carmi for the past 25 years. Born July 13, 1911 in Wayne County, his parents were George and Emma Ewing. He was married to the former Mabel Merritt, who preceded him in death. A brother, Lester Ewing, had died just one month ago. Bro. Sonny Jackson officiated at the services, with Nale's funeral Home of Fairfield in charge of arrangements.
