Mrs Grace Alice Hon, 90, widow of the late Martin Hon, of Fairfield, died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 1983, at the Rest Haven Nursing Home at Albion. Mrs. Hon had been a resident of the nursing home for the past two years. Death was due to infirmities of age, the family said.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Johnson Funeral Home, with Bro. Roy Collins officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery south of Fairfield.

Mrs. Hon was born in Barnhill township Sept. 22, 1892, the daughter of George P. and Emma (Vaughan) Ewing. She attended the Pleasant Ridge School and lived in Wayne County almost all her life. She was married to Martin Hon in 1918. He preceded her in death. The Hon family farmed southeast of Fairfield. They moved to Lakeview Drive after Mr. Hon's retirement. Mrs. Hon sold her home prior to taking residence at the nursing home.

Mrs. Hon was a homemaker and housewife during her marriage. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church near Fairfield.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs.Lyman (Lula) Elliott and Mrs. Oscar (Veda) Elliott, both of Fairfield; and two brothers, Lester Ewing, of Fairfield and Robley Ewing, of Carmi.

She was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and two brothers.
