Funeral services for Mrs. Emmaline Frances Furtick, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank C. Hoefer, 2715 Millwood Avenue, Saturday night, were held at Mrs. Hoefer's home Monday morning at 11 o'clock by the Rev. P. D. Brown, pastor of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Mrs. Furtick was the widow of the late Irving Furtick of this city, she was 82 years of age.
Mrs. Furtick was a daughter of William Williams and Emaline Gunter Williams of Aiken County, where she lived before coming to Columbia. She has lived here for 25 years, during which time she has made a host of friends who greatly mourn her death.
She is survived by the following Columbians who are here children. William F. Furtick, Mrs. Thomas J. Walker and Mrs. Frankl C. Hoefer, another daughter, Mrs. L. K. Etheredge of North, also survives, as does Dr. S. F. Williams of Cordele, Ga., and Middleton Williams of Lexington County, two brothers. Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive Mrs. Furtick.
