Serving as Honorary casketbearers are Dennis and Larry Sabin, Calvin Mistelski, Kenny Lillehaug, Sid Colville, and George Wentz. Serving as Active Casketbearers are Rocky , Richard, and Darin Morino, Nina Gray, Curtis and Travis Wentz, Scott, Derek, and Nicolaas Jacobs, and Brenda Grever.

"Ollie" as she liked to be called was born July 16, 1921 to Charles and Martha Fike on the farm of her Grandmother Churchill in Spink County, Doland, SD. Ollie was premature and was put into a shoe box to keep her warm for her first few days.

Ollie graduated from the 8th grade at a 1 room country school house 1 mile from her family farm. One year later Ollie attended Elgin High School and graduated in 1941 with 38 fellow students. She lamented the fact that they never had a Prom!

During her early years she helped take care of her younger brothers and sisters, herded cows, and worked on several farms doing housework. She was paid $2.50-$3.00 a week and thought she was rich!

At an Old Settlers picnic at Lemmon in 1940 she met Donald Lillehaug and on September 6, 1942, in Mott, ND, they were married. In late 1942 Donnie was called to active service in the Air Force. Ollie traveled with him working in various occupations while living off base. When she learned she was pregnant she moved to Elgin, ND and gave birth to her daughter Judith Lillehaug. On that same day Donnie was shipped overseas and stationed near London, England. March 6, 1944 Donnie was killed in a bombing raid over Berlin, Germany.

Ollie continued to live in Elgin raising her daughter, Judy, and in June 1945 she met Raymond Jacobs at another Old Settlers picnic but in Carson, ND. She and Ray were married November 22, 1945. This marriage was to last 67 years, 11 months. To this marriage was born a son, Gerald Dean, and a daughter Joyce Ann.

Shortly after her son's birth they moved to the farm 10 miles north of Morristown, near the Cedar River. In 1949 after a record flood they moved ¾ mile north to their present location. They remodeled the house, built barns and sheds and planted over 3000 trees.

During the childrens' school years Ollie worked at the truck stop in Lemmon as a cook and even when the kids left home continued in this role for 20 years. Everyone loved her cooking and especially her apple and lemon pies.

Ollie wanted more education so she attended night school and acquired 45 hrs of college credits. She was very proud of this accomplishment. She also attended many organizations. She held the office of President of the American Legion Post (Lemmon), President of the Selma Ladies Aid, President of Lone Prairie Homemakers Club, and Member of the Activity Advisory Board for the Lemmon High School. In some things she was ahead of her time….she lobbied the Lemmon City Council for sidewalk ramps for the handicapped and several years later those ramps were installed. They eventually sold their farm to their nephew but continued to live there so Ollie could plant her flower gardens and Raymond watch the neighbors cows come in for water. Ollie joined the Granny Club and had lots of fun with crafts. She also became an avid quilt maker. Ollie loved to play cards so she joined the Lone Prairie Card club. She looked forward to playing each month and would announce it gleefully to Ray each time she took high prize.

They remodeled their family home shortly before Ollie retired. She loved to tell stories about how she cut and measured each board and Ray would nail them all in place according to her instructions!! She was a carpenter at heart and also built many of the cupboards and closets in their home. Ollie was very proud of the house she and Ray worked so hard in building and did a lot of entertaining. In 2010 their daughter Joyce brought Ollie and Ray to her home in Nebraska for the winter months. This worked out very well as Ollie was happy she didn't have to shovel snow all winter! She and Ray would return to the farm each spring and Ollie would plant all the new flower seeds she had collected during the winter.

In September 2012 Ollie was diagnosed with colon cancer. Her daughter Judy brought Ollie and Ray to her home in Nampa and surgery was performed in Boise, ID, October 8, 2012.

Ollie is survived by her husband Ray, Morristown, 2 daughters, Judith Main, Nampa ID, Joyce (Hugh) Meier, Morrill, NE; 10 grandchildren, Rocky (Monica) Morino, Nina Gray, Richard (Kristi) Morino, Darin (Kristina)Morino, Curtis (Lisa) Wentz, Travis (Leslie) Wentz, Brenda (Troy) Grever, Scott Jacobs, Derek Jacobs, and Nicolaas Jacobs; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Fred and Neil Fike, sisters, Marjorie Joiner, Ruthe Mayer, and Grace (Bob) Schell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Gerald; parents Charles and Martha Fike; 6 siblings Walter, Lester, LeRoy, Marie, Arthur and Lawrence; and 1 great granddaughter, Abbigale Olivia.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday morning.
