Ada was born in 1885 to John Crook; Carrie A Youmans. She married Harry Leroy Bemis on December 1, 1902 in Princeton, Minnesota. Ada and Harry had seven girls and two boys: Bernice, Grace, Evelyn, Vivian, Harriet, Ardis, Corine, Leo and Lynn.

Ada passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 13 at Puyallup, Washington at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chester Egge. She had been in poor health and has been bedridden most of the time since last November. Funeral services were held at Puyallup, Washington on Thursday. The remains were then shipped to Minnesota and final rites were held in the Estes Brook Methodist church Monday were Mrs. Bemis had been a member for may years. Rev. Clyde Shattuck, of Zimmerman officiated. Adele Belle Crook was born in Milo township, Mille Lacs county, April 16, 1885 where she grew up.
All nine children survive their mother. They are Mrs. Fred Newman (Bernice), of Marshall, Mo; Mrs. Ronald Wieler (Grace) of Shakoppe MN; Mrs. Ray Clark (Evelyn) of Minneapolis, MN; Mrs. Silas Schwartz (Vivian) of Tacoma, WA; Mrs. Chester Ege (Corianne) of Puyallup, WA; Mrs. Robert Tidd (Ardis) of Milaca, MN; Mrs. Rolland Orton (Harriet) of Midway WA; and Leo and Lynn Bemis of LaGrande, WA. Other survivors are two brothers, Fredwin Crook of Trotters, ND; Leslie Crook of Billings, MT.
