Donald Henry Kress, 62 years of age, of Sterling, Nebraska died at the Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh, Nebraska on Thursday morning, Feb 4, 1999. He was born on Feb 20, 1936, at Tecumseh, Nebraska. He received his education in Sterling and graduated with the class of 1954.
He married Deloris "Dee" K. Baerg on Apr 30, 1960, in Inman, Kansas, and they lived in Salina, Kansas until moving to Sterling, Nebraska in 1970.
He served in the Us Air Force, and then worked as a mechanic for the Dodge Corporation in Salina, Kansas, and then he owned and operated an auto repair shop in Sterling for five years. From 1975 untl 1997, he was employed as a truck driver. Donald was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Sterling, Nebraska. He was also a member of the Camp Creek Thrashers of Waverly, Nebraska, a former member of the Sterling Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed his grandchildren and restoring Cub Cadet Tractors and Lawn Mowers.
Survivors include his wife of Sterling, Nebraska. Daughter, and her husband of Hallam, Nebraska. Son and his wife of Lincoln, Nebraska. Two granddaughters of Grand Island, Nebraska. Special friends, of Grand Island, Nebraska. Five brothers, Two sisters. Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Raymond and Loretta Florence Lillian Agena Kress; two sisters, Judy Hitz and Linda Kress; and two brothers, Harvey and Kenny Kress.
