Frederick Louis Dascher was born near Biscay, McLeod County, Minnesota on October 31, 1876, the son of Simeon Adam and Marie Elizabeth (Ortloff) Dascher. Simeon Dascher was a native of Switzerland and Marie (Ortloff) Dascher was a native of Prussia. Fred was one of 14 children, 12 of whom survived to adulthood.

Frederick "Fred" married Emma Wilhelmina Hartmann on October 1, 1902 in McLeod County, Minnesota. Emma was born on June 12, 1874, the daughter of Charles and Christina Hartmann, natives of Prussia.

In 1910, Fred and Emma bought 160 acres in Section 27, Hassan Valley Township, McLeod County, where they worked on their "Oak Grove" farm. Fred was known for raising fine Holstein dairy cattle and like his brother, Sim, was an investor in the Biscay Creamery in Biscay, Minnesota.

Fred and Emma had two children: John Henry and Marie Christina. Fred and Emma also raised their nephew, Lester Fleischer. Fred and Emma Dascher belonged to the German Evangelical Church. Emma (Hartmann) Dascher died on July 26, 1940.

Fred Dascher died March 27, 1963 at the age of 86. At the time of his death, he was survived by his son, John Dascher; and one brother, Henry (Irene) Dascher.

Fred Dascher was preceded in death by his wife, Emma; his daughter, Marie (Reuben) Mielke; two grandchildren; five brothers, Christ, Simeon, Charles, Matthias, and Albert Dascher; five sisters, Elsie (John) Ohland, Mary (Clarence) Howe, Anna (Emil) Schiroo, Clara (George) Fleischer, and Fanny (Albert) Alsleben.

Fred and Emma Dascher are buried in the Oakland Cemetery, Hutchinson, McLeod County, Minnesota.
