Christ Adam Dascher (1870–1924), oldest child of Simeon Adam and Marie Elizabeth (Ortloff) Dascher was born near Glencoe (Biscay), McLeod County, Minnesota March 5, 1870.

Christ married Caroline Augusta Petrich October 5, 1893 in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Caroline (Petrich) Dascher was born in Long Grove, Illinois on September 25, 1873, the daughter of Robert and Anna Petrich of Biscay. Caroline Petrich came to Minnesota with her parents in 1876. Caroline's younger sister, Bertha, married Fred B. Howe in 1903.

Christ and Caroline Dascher had four children: Elma Elsie, Caroline Augusta, George Robert Simeon, and Martha Marie. Following their marriage, Christ and Caroline Dascher farmed near Sumter, Minnesota. About 1902, they moved to a farm north of Buffalo Lake in Renville County, Minnesota, about 25 miles west of Glencoe. Caroline died October 29, 1909 at St. Barnaba's Hospital in Minneapolis. Christ Dascher died on July 1, 1924 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota at the age of 54. Christ and Caroline Dascher are buried in the Buffalo Lake Cemetery, Buffalo Lake, Renville County, Minnesota.Christ Dascher, of Buffalo Lake, formerly a resident of the Glencoe community, died at the Rest hospital in Minneapolis on Tuesday, July 1, having been a patient in that institution for two weeks. He had not been in the best of health since spring, due to kidney trouble and diabetes, but his condition was not considered serious until he was examined by a specialist just prior to entering the rest hospital.

The late Christ Dascher was aged 54 years, 3 months and 27 days. He was born March 5, 1870 - being the elder child of his pioneer parents - on the old family homestead situated northeast of Glencoe, where he was reared.

On October 5, 1893, he was married to Caroline Petrich who died October 29, 1909. Their first few years of married life were spent on a farm in Sumter township, from where they moved to the present farm near Buffalo Lake. A family of four survive him, three daughters and one son, namely Mrs. Marshall McEwen (Elma), of Corvuso; Mrs. Eugene Richards (Carrie), and Mrs. Ed. Fitzlau (Martha), both of Buffalo Lake, and George, who resides at home. He also leaves five grandchildren, two girls and three boys, and is survived by six brothers and four sisters. They are Matt. Dascher, West Lynn; Fred Dascher, Biscay; Simeon Dascher, Glencoe; Charles Dascher, Hamburg; Albert Dascher, Hanover, N.D.; Henry Dascher, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. George Fliesher, Riverton, Minn.; Mrs. Frank Steasmann, Winthrop, Minn.; Mrs. Clarence How, Velva, N.D., and Mrs. John Ohland, Kincaid, Sask., Canada. All relatives mentioned above were present at the funeral except Henry, Albert and Mrs. Clarence Howe.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 o'clock and at the Lutheran church in Buffalo Lake of which he was a member at 2 o'clock last Thursday afternoon.

There was a wealth of beautiful flowers, which were carried by six nieces of the deceased, Myrtle, Marie, Mabel, Helen and Hattie Dascher, and Dela Streasmann.

There was a large cortège, many living at a distance being present including the following from Glencoe: Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Austin, Capt. M. Thoeny, Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Beihoffer, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Howe, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Alsleben, Mr. and Mrs. Freitz Renietz, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Dascher, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sonneberg, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Hatz, Peter Hatz, Christ Hatz, Mr. and Mrs. William Zierke, Mr. and Mrs. George Zierke, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Asche, Robert, Sr., Miss Marie Petrich, Henry F. Petrich, Otto Petrich, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wadel, George Wadel, and Henry A. Thoeny.

Mr. and Mrs. John Beck, of Hutchinson; Mr. and Mrs. William Grenke, of Sumter; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Alsleben, of New Auburn, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Petrich, of Lester Prairie, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wiedel, of St. Paul, were among those in attendance.

The late Christ Dascher was a man of big physique, and this bigness was characteristic of his life toward his children, neighbors and friends. He was a successful farmer, and an honest and conscientious citizen, who was universally liked and ever held in highest esteem.
