Service Held Wednesday for C. E. Bailey, Well Known Here
Funeral services for Clarence Everett Bailey well known Moab resident and the father of Mrs Genevieve Miller, Claron E Bailey and Kedric Bailey of Moab were held Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Moab. Mr Bailey died Saturday at his home in Moab.

Opening prayer was given by Howard Balsley following which Mrs Gwyn Meador and Mrs Maggie Taylor tendered the opening song Mr H. B. Evans, a friend of Mr Bailey and his family, was the main speaker.

The Singing Mothers of Moab gave the closing song. Mr George Newell closed with prayer. Interment was at the Moab city cemetery with Mr Lloyd Somerville dedicating the grave.

Clarence Everett Bailey was born September 21 1884 in Jackson County Indiana, the son of Charles Edward Bailey and Laura Finley Bailey. He married Fanny Bessie Baxter in 1906 at Indianapolis, Indiana. Previous to the marriage he graduated from Southport, Indiana high school. Later he attended college at Fort Collins, Colorado.

Before coming to Moab, Mr Bailey resided in Long Beach, California and for the past thirty-three years he had been a resident of this city. His occupation has been primarily that of a carpenter and builder. Some years ago, he was employed by the State Road Commission but later resumed carpenter work. Previous to his retirement he was Moab City Building Inspector.

Survivors include eight children: Mrs Genevieve Miller, Claron E Bailey and Kedric Bailey of Moab; Mrs Lorene Hood, Tuente, Calif; Lowell Bailey, Manhatten Beach, Calif; Captain Wendell Bahley Bailey, stationed in the Azores Islands; Mrs Donna Babbitt, Compton, Calif; Baxter Bailey, Hawthorne, Calif; one brother, Mr Walter C Bailey of Roseburg, Oregon, and two sisters, Mrs Josephine Burckhart, Roseburg, Oregon and Mrs Florence Kephart, Indianapolis, Indiana. There are thirty-four surviving grand-children
and seven great grand-children.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Turner Funeral Home, Moab.
