HOISINGTON-- Emma C. Pratt, 92, died Thursday morning, September 1st, at the Hoisington Lutheran Hospital. She was born April 3, 1885 in Orum, Neb. She married Sylvester V. Pratt Oct. 1913 in Omaha, Neb. He died Feb. 6, 1950. She had been a resident of the Homestead Villa in Hoisington since May 1975, coming from Topeka.
She was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Topeka.
Survivors include one son, Leland R. of Topeka, three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Dorothea) Schwindt of Ness City, Mrs. Ira (Helen) Dent of Culver and Mrs. Paul (Blanche) Smith of Great Bend; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Friends may call at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Emma Caroline Jensen skipped high school and went straight from eighth grade into college. She graduated from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. She taught in country grade school until her Mother grew ill. She took care of her mother until her mothers' death and continued to live at home with her surviving father until her marriage to Sylvester Venus Pratt.
Emma Caroline Jensen Pratt had gray (brown/blue) eyes and dark brown hair with a reddish cast. She was considered tall for her day at 5 foot 8 inches.
