Dorothea Margaret Schwindt, 96, died May 31, 2012 at River Bend Assisted Living, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born November 19, 1915 at Orum, Nebraska, the daughter of Sylvester Venus and Emma Caroline (Jensen) Pratt. She married Harry Conrad Schwindt July 28, 1934 at LaCrosse, Kansas. He died March 12, 1991. A Great Bend resident since 1985, coming from Ness City, Kansas, Mrs. Schwindt was a homemaker and farm wife, also working at the LaCrosse Bakery.
Mrs. Schwindt was a member of First Assembly of God, various church women's groups, and the church choir.
Survivors include two sons: Keith Schwindt and his wife Judy, Alexander, Kansas; Dale Schwindt and his wife Gloria, Alexander; one daughter, Connie Rumold and her husband Bill, San Jose, California; one sister, Blanche Mae Smith, Topeka, Kansas; one daughter-in-law, Renee Schwindt, Naperville, Illinois; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Herbert Schwindt.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at First Assembly of God, Great Bend. Pastor Dwight Dozier will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to First Assembly of God, in care of the funeral home.

Miss Dorothea Pratt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.V. Pratt, of McCracken, and Harry Schwindt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Schwindt, of La Crosse, were married Saturday, July 28, at 2:00 p.m., by Judge J.W. Seuser, at his office. The bride was attended by Misses Helen and Ione Pratt, her sisters. She wore a gown of white silk crepe. The groom was attended by Derrill Pratt, cousin of the bride.
A dinner in honor of the couple was served at the home of the bride's parents at 6:00 in the evening.
