It is with sadness that we chronicle the death of Nels, the youngest son of Hans C. Jensen of Orum. It seems that about three weeks ago he was taken ill. At first it was thought the ailment came from the effects of eating too much ice cream at the Blair picnic, but later on his illness became serious and Dr. Stewart was summoned who immediately sent the patient to the Blair hospital for an operation. He never recovered from the operation, but lingered nearly a week until Thursday, when cold, stern Death claimed his victim. The remains were laid to rest in the Danish church yard; Rev. Hendrickson delivering a very touching sermon from the text found in Ecclesiastes 12:1. The deceased was born in March 1887, near Orum, and has lived here ever since. He leaves a kind father, a brother, sister and others to mourn his demise. We have known him all his life and have always found him to be an honest, trustworthy, upright boy, whose desire was to do good and shun evil. How deplorable it always seems to have a young, useful life snatched away in the twinkling of an eye, but it is His will, not ours -- Kenard Enterprise.
