Nancy Lida Weeks was born June 28, 1878 at Corsicana, Texas, daughter of Nathan Hosea and Nancy Alice Chester Weeks. She moved with her family to Old Day County in 1900.
She was united in marriage to Alpha Thomas Leddy, March 16, 1902.
She passed away December 16, 1970 at the Sayre Memorial Hospital after a long illness at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 18 days.
She was a longtime member of the Methodist Church.
She filed on a claim near Dead Indian Lake which was in Old Day County. After marriage to Mr. Leddy they made their home in a half dugout, on their old homestead about a mile south of the Canadian River.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1935 and one daughter, Nona Hill, in 1959, 1 sister Maggie Kendall, 2 brothers Billy Weeks and Joe Thomas.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Vida Archer of Sayre, Mrs. Henry Walker, Strong City, Mrs. Minnie Hillman of Roll, Oklahoma, 5 sons, Hosea, of Cheyenne, Ollie, Sayre, Oklahoma, Loyd of White Deere, Texas, A.T. of Strong City and Raymond of Cheyenne; two sisters Mrs. Myrtle Jones, of Roll and Iva McClellan, of Mt. View, Missouri, one brother Otis Thompson, Cheyenne, 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, also other relatives and a host of friends.
Committal in Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
