18 Roger Mills County men were inducted into service through the selective service during the past week. They are:
ARMY: A. T. Leddy, Jr., Leedey

In September 1959 AT was living in/near Strong City.
In October 1989 AT was living in/near Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
In October 1992 AT was living in/near Cheyenne.
In September 1999 AT was living in/near Cheyenne.
In November 2004 AT was living in the Roll community, Oklahoma.

A.T. Leddy was born December 15, 1915 northeast of Roll, Oklahoma to Lida and Alpha Thomas Leddy. He passed away January 8, 2005 at the Cheyenne Care Center, Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years and 23 days.
He was married to Lennie Schmidt at Breezy Meadow Community on May 13, 1937. They lived on the Leddy Homestead near the Canadian River before moving to Box T Springs Ranch in the Roll community for the next 45 years. In December of 1985 they moved to Cheyenne to make their home. A.T. and Lennie sang for church and funerals for many years and also sang with the 101 singers.
A.T. was a member of Breezy Meadow Church and Crawford Mangolia Baptist Church and later, the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne.
He was prceded in death by his parents, wife Lennie, 1 infant son and twin infant daughters, Anita and Juanita, 3 brothers, Hosea, Ollie and Raymond, 3 sisters, Seaneth, Nona and Viola.
Services were held January 11, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Cheyenne First Baptist Church officiated by Terry Beals and Jeff Hurlbut. Burial was at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
Survivors: One daughter Linda Kirk and husband Kennth, Roll, Oklahoma; son Phillip Leddy and wife Mary, Kempner, Texas; sister Minnie Hillman, Roll, Oklahoma; one brother Loyd Leddy, Lodi, California; 4 grandchildren Darin Leddy and wife Pam, Cedar, Texas, Brian Leddy and wife Laura, Mansfield, Texas, Miklyn Parr, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Rory Kirk and wife Ellen, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; 7 great grandchildren, Kaleb, Miranda, Meleah, Samantha, Hayley, Sydney, Zoe Mae, a host of relatives and friends.
