On February 14, 1935, he married Celestine Fahrlander in Hinckley.
He was a retired farmer and former road commissioner of Squaw Grove Township. He was a member of the Hinckley Community Association, and for many years was associated with Pony League Baseball in Hinckley.
He is survived by his wife, Celestine, of Hinckley; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Harris, of Mountain Home, AR, two sons, Gerald (Patricia) of Glencoe, AR, and Ronald (Rita) of Big Rock; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard and Stanley, both of Hinckley; and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Weiherman, of Hinckley.
The funeral service was at 1:30 PM Tuesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hinckley, with Rev. Edward Freese officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hinckley.
Arrangements were made by Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, Hinckley.
