She was born in Waterman, Illinois the daughter of Irvin and Celestine (Fahrlander) Jandt. Betty was a 1954 graduate of Hinckley High School. Mrs. Harris taught elementary school in Illinois for 19 years and later in the Mountain Home Public School system for three years.
She is survived by her husband David Eaves of Mountain Home; her son, Mark Harris of Boise, Idaho; her daughter, Stacy (Lyman) Platt of Mountain Grove, Missouri; her five grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edwin V. "Ed" Harris; her brothers, Gerald R. Jandt and Ronald E. Jandt; and her sister, Rita Ann Jandt.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley, Illinois.
A memorial fund is being established in Betty's name.
