LOGAN — Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Smith Ballif, 77, who died Friday evening of a heart ailment, will be conducted Monday at 1 p. m. in the Logan Fourth L D S Ward Chapel by Newell O. Daines, bishop of the Logan Fifth L D S Ward.

Born in Logan, Mrs. Ballf was married in 1886 to John L. Balif, who died last December. She was a soloist in the Logan L D S Temple for many years until her health failed.

She was a member of the Fremont L D S Relief Society Board for many years and was a Relief Society counselor in the Rexburg, Idaho Second LDS Ward.

Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the Lindquist Funeral Home.

Emma Smith is the daughter of Margaret Gurney and Thomas X Smith.

She married John Lyman Ballif October 20, 1886 in Logan, Utah.

They have seven children: John Lyman Ballif, Margaret Elise Ballif, Emma Claremonde Ballif, George Smith Ballif, Florence Smith Ballif, Ariel Smith Ballif and Harriette Smith Ballif.
