Dick Bunch

Dick Bunch, 74, of Kirksville, Missouri formerly of Brashear, Missouri passed away Wednesday (February 21, 2001) at Kirksville, Manor Care Center.

The son of Willis Marion and Irva Ann (Belzer) Bunch, he was born August 17, 1926 in Winigan, Missouri. On September 11, 1951 in Kirksville, Missouri he was united in marriage to Zelma Eileen Morrow who survives.

Also surviving is a daughter, Cheryl Leffler of Trenton, Missouri; two brothers, Dean Bunch and wife Virginia of Canton, Missouri and Marion Bunch and wife Faye of Macon, Missouri; one sister, Lola Bunch of Milan, Missouri; two grandchildren, Kelli and Kori Grogan and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers, Harlie Bunch, Voiley Bunch, Otis Bunch, Erman Bunch, Alvin Bunch, Hollace Bunch, Frank Bunch and Asa Bunch.

Mr. Bunch graduated from the Hurdland High School. He served in the United States Army from January 12, 1945 to July 17, 1947, serving in Korea, Germany and the Philippines. He was a farmer and a carpenter all of his life. In 1986 he went to work at Thousand Hills State Park until 1998 when he retired. He lived on the farm southeast of Brashear all of his life.

He was a member of V.F.W. Post #2508.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (February 24, 2001) at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel with Reverend Robert Shobe, officiating. Music will be provided by Bud Reese singing, "Beyond the Sunset" and "On the Wings of a Snow White Dove" accompanied by Mable Reed, organist. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be John Bunch, Gary Bunch, Melvin Bunch, Ron Pettit, Vaughn Fleshner and Mike Fleshner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lawrence Dixson, Colonel Bunch, Cecil Rehm and Glen Snyder.
