Willis Marion "Jake" Bunch, age 86, formerly of Brashear, Missouri passed away Sunday March 17, 202 at the Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Missouri.
A son of Willis and Irva Ann (Belzer) Bunch he was born February 7, 1916 in Winigan, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Faye Etta Techau Medsker on August 12, 1947 in Queen City, Missouri.
Mr. Bunch is survived by his wife, Faye, of Kirksville, Missouri; five children, Charlene Montgomery and husband Steve of Rutledge, Missouri, Charlotte Miller of Palmyra, Misouri, Randy Bunch of Kirksville, Missouri, Coleen Rouch and husband Rodney of Knox City, Missouri and Ricky Bunch and wife Dena of Macon, Missouri; a step-daughter Shirley Strosaker of Orange, California; a daughter-in-law, Marg (Moss) Medsker of Quincy, Illinois; one sister Lola Bunch of Milan, Missouri; one brother Dean Bunch of Canton, Missouri; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers, Harley, Volly, Ottis, Erman, Asa, Hollis, Alvin, Frank and Dick Bunch and a step-son, Melvin Medsker.
He served in the United States Army Air-Corp during World War II from 1942 through 1945.
Mr. and Mrs. Bunch lived in the Brashear area most of their lives. They also lived in the Hurdland, Edina and Bethel areas. He was active in farming in the Hurdland area and was a carpenter.
Marion's avorite hobbies included fishing, hunting, whittling, card playing and spending time with all his grandchildren. He also enjoyed little practical jokes.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 21, 2002 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, Missouri. Rev. Beryl Cragg will officiate the services. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Hurdland, Missouri with military honors.
Casket bearers will be Brock Baker, Eddie Hicks, David Stutsman, Kenneth Cooper, Aaron Vansickle, Larry Callahan and Billy Hettinger.
