She married Alfred Lee Carter March 15, 1886.

Funeral services were held at
2:00 Thursday afternoon, Sept. 22,
for Mrs. Margaret Ann Carter, 87,
of Wichita Falls at the Jefferson
Street Baptist church there. Rev.
C. C. Hooper of Sunnyside Heights
Baptist church and Rev. Lee Hooper
of the host church, officiated.
Burial was in Highland cemetery
under direction of Tanner Funeral
Home of Iowa Park. Pallbearers
were grandsons of Mrs. Carter.
She died Tuesday afternoon at
her home in Wichita Falls after a
year of illness.
Born Jan. 29, 1868 in Belton, she
was married to Lee Carter, March
16, 1886 in Hamilton county. They
came to Wichita Falls and saw
it grow from a small town to a
large city. Mr. Carter died several
years ago.
Mrs. Carter is survived by five
sons, six daughters, 51 grand-, 66
great-grand-, and 3 great-great-grandchildren,
and a sister. Verna Laura Moore of Iowa Park is
one of the daughters.
