He was the son of the late George and Rena Gutshall Chestnut.
He was a retired foreman of PennDot and was a member of the First Church of God, Newville.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Barrick Chestnut, Forest Park Nursing Home, Carlisle; two daughters, Dorothy Miller and Esther Heckendorn, RD4 Newville; two sons, William L Chestnut, Plainfield and Fred G Chestnut, RD4 Carlisle; three sisters, Blanche Nickel and Beulah Rickabaugh, RD3 Newville and Helen Clevenger, RD2 Newville; four brothers, John and Bruce Chestnut, RD3 Newville; Paul Chestnut, RD9 Carlisle; Lloyd Chestnut, RD1 Mechanicsburg; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Egger Funeral Home, 15 Big Spring Avenue, Newville with the Rev. Robert Shambaugh officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
