Lloyd M. Chestnut, 88, of 115 Timber Road, Mechanicsburg, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999 in Sarah Todd Nursing Home, Carlisle.

Born Oct. 24, 1910 in Lower Mifflin Township, he was the son of the late George Chestnut and Rena Gutshall Chestnut and the widower of Pearl M. Cressler Chestnut, who died June 1, 1994.

A Protestant he retired in 1990 from Hempt Farms after 44 years of farming.

Mr. Chestnut is survived by a son, Richard G. Chestnut of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Lorraine J. Sechrist of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Hellen Clevenger of Newville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda M. Sprowls, who died in April 1998.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Howard A. Kerstetter officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, West Pennsboro Township.
