Obituary - Keokuk County News - Sept. 19, 1918 - ".. died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Stokesberry, near Sigourney, Ia. He came to Iowa with his parents when a child, living with them on the home farm northwest of Sigourney....Mr. Davis possessed a quiet disposition and was loved and respected by all his neighbors and firends. He united with the Baptist Church in Sigourney in April, 1863 and was a consistent member. Funeral was held at the Baptist Church friday afternoon at 2:00 conducted by Rev. Heath of Ottumwa."
