From the Northfield News:

Roger Tralle Hall, 82, died on Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis following a brief illness. Hall was born on April 7, 1918, to William and Adelaide (Tralle) Hall, in Northfield. He attended school in Northfield, graduating in 1936. After completing school, Hall spent some time traveling with his brothers. They hitched rides on trains and traveled throughout the United States. He later began working at Malt-O-Meal. On April 29, 1941, he married Evangeline Violet Anderson in Faribault. During World War II they lived in Minneapolis while he was employed in munitions manufacturing at Northern Ordnance. After the war he took up sheet metal work in Minneapolis. The family later returned to Northfield where he worked for his brother Ralph in his heating and sheet metal business. When the Dray Line in Northfield came up for sale he bought it and for many years delivered freight to businesses in Northfield. In 1968 he began work with the paint crew at Carleton College, retiring in 1983. Hall enjoyed hunting ducks, pheasants and deer and fishing the local lakes and Cannon River. Hall and his wife enjoyed spending time at her parents cabin on Lake Mazaska and later at their own place on Cedar Lake. They also enjoyed attending auctions, collecting glassware and toys. Hall is survived by his wife; son, Robert (and Emerald) of Orlando, Fla; brothers, Fran of Colorado, and John of Northfield; a sister, Arlene Boevers of Northfield; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Richard, and sisters, Marian Kleeberger, Helen Abbott and Margaret Dunley. Services were held Aug. 15 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, the Rev. Craig Ellingboe officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary and Curtis Hall, Dan Nesseth, George Bultman, George Setman and Woody Schrader.
