Bobbie Towry, 82, died July 8, 2012 in The Villages, FL.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 until 8 PM and will continue on Friday from 9 until a 10 o'clock service. Bro. Charles Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Mrs. Towry was born in Mount Vernon, Texas.

She traveled the world with her husband of 60 years, Howard Towry, and settled
in Mississippi after his retirement from the military. In 1984, she became a
member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association, attaining life member
status. She taught golf at the University of Southern Mississippi for three
years, then for more than 20 years at Oakridge Golf Course in Fernwood, Miss.,
an executive golf course she and her husband designed, built and operated. She
was a frequent volunteer at local high schools, teaching beginning golf to
underprivileged youth.

Survivors include her daughters Barbara Matson, The Villages, Margaret Nunnery,
McComb, MS, and Toni Myers, San Diego, CA; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, at the Hartman Sharkey Funeral
Home in McComb.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice of The
Villages or any junior golf program.
