Mildred Floy Anderson Gilbert VanZandt, 88, of Austin died Saturday, May 26, 2012 in Austin. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29 at Bethel Cemetery with Bro. Chris Jones officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. VanZandt was born June 6, 1923 in Franklin County to Floyd McCoy Anderson and Allie Louella Townsend Anderson.

She is survived by one step-son, Ray VanZandt, two daughters, Wanda Dale Gilbert Hall, of Austin and Mildred Joan Blackburn, of Georgetown, three grandchildren, Aubrey Robert Blackburn; Rhonda Lorraine Blackburn Cole; and Jennifer Rena Hall Chang; four great-grandchildren, Christopher and Donovan Cole; Sierra Cole Hahn; and Sophia Chang; and three sisters, Bobby Towry, of The Villages, Fla.; Imogene Hicks, of Winnsboro; and JoAnne McElhaney, of Tyler.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Robert Leon Gilbert and Sammy Lee VanZandt, and one brother, F. M. Anderson.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
