Cyreena Lorena Watkins Atkinson was the daughter of William Henry Watkins (1842-1914) and Rebecca C. Barnes Watkins (1861-1910).
She was born in 1878 in Kansas and died in Montana in 1951. She was one of 10 children which included: Mae (1889-1954) . . . my husband's grandmother, Franklin (1880-1939), Myrtle (1885-1950), William John (1887-1954), Maggie (1891-1904), Susan Graceful (1892-1953), Olive Josephine (1895-1964), Leona Naomi (1897-1937) and Mattie Johnson (1883-1944).
On November 1, 1900 (@ Davis Creek, MT), she married Thomas Jefferson Atkinson (1861 in MO - 1918 in MT). To this union were born 5 children: Pearl Irene (1902-1966), Wallace Stewart (1904-1946), Joel Paul (1906-1989), Felix Clarence (1907-1966) and William Frank (1910-Abt. 1968).
Although Thomas' memorial page lists only 4 children, William Frank Atkinson was indeed their 5th child.
The photo on this page shows all living adult children of William Watkins and Rebecca Barnes Watkins. It was taken at some point after 1937. My husband's grandmother, Mae is on the far right and I believe Cyreena to be on the far left. She was the oldest of the Watkins children. We found this photo after Kay (my husband's mother) died, it had no date or names listed, so I'm guessing as to which is which, although feel certain Cyreena is on the left.
Cyreena is buried at Pleasant View Cemetery (in Belt, Cascade Co, MT) next to her husband.
