Grace M. Bartek, 68, passed away at her home surrounded by her family after a long illness, on Monday, October 16, 2000. She was born in Oconto on March 2, 1932. She had been a resident of Racine for 50 years. Grace was previously married to Ronald K. Deschler. On November 9, 1963, she married Joseph Bartek, who preceded her in death on September 15, 1990. She was employed at Racine Stamping until becoming ill. She is survived by one daughter, Cathy Deschler Pitchford of Racine; one son, Allan Sue Cota of Oconto; grandchildren, Rhea and Cayle Pitchford of Racine; and Shane and Jolene Cota of Oconto; mother, Lorena Hatton of Oconto; one brother, Wayne Marlene Cota of Oconto; one sister, Shirley Kriesel of Franksville. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Erben Cota; brothers, Jack and Gary Cota; and sisters, Laura Larmay and Alice Kieliszewski. Private graveside services took place at Oconto Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the following for supporting Grace in her long and courageous battle, Dr. Omdahl, Racine County Human Services, Society's Assets, Better Breathers Club, and Hospice Alliance.
