Lorena M. Cota-Hatton, 96, of Oconto, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. Lorena was born August 10, 1911 in Oconto to the late John and Mary (Cousie) Kasbaum. Lorena attended Maple Grove and Fairview schools. Lorena was employed for 21 years as a cook at the Snack Shack and then cooked at the Oconto Golf Club. She cooked and served many meals for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. at the Little Ponderosa in Pensaukee, Wrangler Inn at county Line and many others places. She also did catering. Lorena was a member of the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto.

Lorena is survived by a daughter Shirley (Skip Conwell) Kriessel, Adams; two sons Wayne (Marlene) Cota, Oconto; Alan (Sue) Cota, Oconto; a step-son Dale Hatton, Abrams; a brother Lee (Anne Marie) Kasbaum, Pensaukee; sister-in-law Dolly Kasbaum, Manitowoc; 30 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 28 great great grandchildren many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her first and second husband Erben Cota and Robert Hatton, two sons Gary Cota, Edward Jack Cota, three daughters Laura Larmay, Alice Kielizewski, Grace Bartek, and a step-son Robert Hatton, two sisters Evelyn Bake, Gladys Gadicki, and a brother Earl Kasbaum

The family will receive relatives and friends at the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto, from 9 AM to 12 noon Monday, April 14, 2008. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon on Monday at the church with the Rev. Richard DeBenedetto officiating. Burial will be at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
