Wayne "Red" Cota, 76, Oconto, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, October 19, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital, Green Bay.

He was born October 3, 1933, in Oconto to Erben Cota and Lorena (Kasbaum) Cota Hatton.

He married Marlene Follett on November 21, 1953, in Oconto, where they lived their entire life.

Wayne was employed at Cruisers Yachts for 43 years. His passions included deer hunting, fishing, camping, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marlene, and his children Debbie (Dan) Dionne, Oconto; Vickie (Mark) Kirchner, Oconto Falls; Cindy Riewe, Oconto Falls; Connie (JJ) Young, Oconto; Gary Cota, Lena; one sister Shirley Kriesel, Friendship; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers and a grandson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Shane R. Cota officiating.
