William Derouchie, 63, formally of Malone and well known in Fort Covington, died Thursday in Crouse-Irving hospital, Syracuse, after a six-week illness.

Mr. Derouchie was born in Malone May 13, 1892, a son of John B. and Nettie Fayette Derouchie.

He lived most of his life in Malone. About 15 years ago he moved to Florida where he owned a contracting business. He had lately been employed in Syracuse.

He is survived by his wife, the former Hattie Martin; a son, Gerald, stationed with the navy in Cuba; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Beatrice) Deshaw, Massena, and Mrs. Harold (Marion) Dufort of Malone; one brother, Floyd, of Malone, and eight grandchildren.

The body was returned to Malone and last rites were conducted Monday morning from Notre Dame church there. Among local people who attended the funeral are, Mr. and Mrs. B. N. Derouchie, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Cappello and Miss Florence Rouselle.
