MALONE - J. Floyd Derochie, 68, Deputy Collector of Customs at Trout River, died suddenly Wednesday evening, May 12th, after collapsing on the Malone golf course and while being taken to the hospital.

He was a son of the late John and Natalie Fayette Derochie.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning from the Spaulding funeral chapel, Malone, The Rev. Allison Wood officiating. Burial was in Notre Dame cemetery, Malone.

Mr. Derochie was a frequent caller in Fort Covington at the home of relatives and friends and was well known here. His father, a native of Fort Covington, operated the so-called Malone-Fort Covington stage back years ago. Mr. Derochie resided at 74 Elm street, Malone. Twice married, his first wife was the former Gertrude Pelkey of Malone. She died in 1936. He later married the former Juanita Dumas of Burke who survives.

He was a veteran of World War I.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, John Derochie of St. Louis; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Ryan of Chateaugay, Mrs. Gale (Lora) Perry of Syracuse, and Kristine, at home, and ten grandchildren.
