The funeral of the late John H Bangs, brother of Chas. H. Bangs of Richland township, DeKalb county, was held Wednesday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Sanford Cook, northeast of South Milford. Burial was made in Green Corners cemetery, near Sedan.
Mr. Bangs was born near Corunna and was eighty-eight years of age last May 11.
He went with a brother, Nathaniel, to central Michigan when he was a young man and they claimed a homestead. Later he returned to DeKalb county and he also resided in Kansas and Montana. His wife died in Montana twelve years ago and after that Mr. Bangs made his home with his children.
Surviving besides the brother are three children, Mrs. Estella Nevins. near Alma. Mich., Raymond H. Bangs of Centralia. Wash., and Mrs. Cook. Three brothers, three sisters and a daughter are dead.
