She was a homemaker, and she operated Madge's Knit and Stitch Shop.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cottage Grove.
Her interests included China painting, and her work received numerous awards from the Lane County Fair. She also enjoyed porcelain dolls, quilting, tatting and helping those in need.
