His family received word of his death here Monday. They were told he was not killed in action, but details of the death were not available immediately.
Hamilton had been stationed in Kamiseya, Japan, where he had been serving with the U.S. Navy security group activity.
A Mineral Wells native, Hamilton graduated from Mineral Wells High School and shortly after moved to Maine. He was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Debra of Japan; son Charlie Hamilton of Japan; nother, Mrs Katherine Hamilton Davis of Mineral Wells; stepfatherJames Davis of Mineral Wells; four sisters, Mrs Joyce Hendrick of Houston, Mrs Joe Holder of Mineral Wells, Mrs James Myers of Fort Worth and Mrs Rosa Glover of Mineral Wells and three brothers, William and George Hamilton of Mineral Wells, and Pvt. John Hamilton of Ft Knox, KY.
