Funeral services for John Wayne Hamilton, 27 of 1916 S W *th Avenue will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Baum Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel, Rev. W. H. Hopper will officiate wint interment in Indian Creek Cemetery, Baun-Carlock-Bumgardner is in charge of arrangements.
Hamilton was killed instantly in a fall from a water tower when the rope used in a hoist broke. The accident happened at 10:00 a.m. Sunday in Lexington, Oklahoma.
He was born July 7, 1950 in Palo Pinto County and had lived in the Mineral Wells area all of his like. He was a painter with R.E. Dow and Sons, and had served with U. S. Army from 1970 until 1973. He was with the U.S. Army Reserves from 1973 to 1976. He and Vita Stephens were married October 1, 1971 in Mineral Wells.
Survivors are his wife Vita Hamilton, of Mineral Wells, tow daughters; Candy and Shanda Hamilton of Mineral Wells; his mother Mrs Katherine Ethel Davis, Mineral Wells; two Brothers; William Hamilton, and George Hamilton of Houston; four sisters; Joyce Hendrick, Houston, Ruth Myers, Houston, Doris Holder, Mineral Wells, Rosa Vigeon, Mineral Wells; a step-father James "Jim" Davis of Mineral Wells, two step-brothers; Harold Davis and W. L. Davis; numerous nices and nephews, aunts and uncles.
