Alice Rodin died Friday

Alice Rodin, age 90, died on Friday, May 15, 1992 at the Kenmare Community Hospital. Her funeral was Monday, May 18 at 2 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church of Kenmare with burial in the Lakeview Cemetery.

Officiating for the service was Pastor Bruce Bryan. Organist was Pearl Nelson with special music offered by Bud Carlson. Active casketbearers included Jim Rodin, Merrill Rodin, Morris Lagorin, Lyndon Nelson, Harold Greek, and Bruce Ankenbauer. Thompson-LarsonFuneral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born on January 8, 1902 in Sioux City, Iowa, a daughter of Per A. and Alma (Erickson) Ekstrom. When she was a young girl, the family moved to the Kenmare area and settled in Kandiyohi township of Burke County. She was married to Edward Rodin on November) 4, 1923 at her parents farm and she worked at the Kenmare Laundry as well as the Baptist Home in Kenmare. He died on July 21, 1963 and she has remained in Kenmare since that time. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son Harvey and his wife Jean of Aberdeen, WA; daughter, Myrna Chavez and her husband Edward of Bloomfield, NM; four grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Arthur of Kenmare; and sisters, Alida Savage of Stone Mountain, GA; Ardie Smith of Mohall, and Amy Nelson and Aurene Johnson, both of Kenmare.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; brother, Arvid Ekstrom, and sisters, Agnes Lagorin, Anna Martin, and Alma Rodin.
