She was born January 25, 1904, at Kenmare, a daughter of Par (cq) and Alma Ekstrom. She was reared at Kenmare and on October 23, 1923, married Royal Martin. They lived and farmed west of Kenmare, moving in 1939 to Coteau, and in 1940, to Bowbells, In1959, the family moved to Seattle where he was employed at the Boeing Co. He died in March, 1983, and in November, 1988, she returned to North Dakota. She lived with a
daughter in Crosby until moving to the Trinity Homes in January.
As a Kenmare resident, she was a member of the Baptist Church there and taught school in the area for a number of years. After moving to Bowbells, she became a member of Evangelical United Brethren Church, was church
pianist and taught Sunday school. She was a member of Mt. View Presbyterian Church in Seattle, and retained that membership until her death.

(Alice) Rodin, Mrs. Chester (Amy) Nelson, and Mrs. Arthur (Aureen) Johnson, all Kenmare,Mrs. Howard (Alida) Savage, Havre, MT, Mrs. John (Adrie) Smith, Mohall; brother, Arthur Ekstrom, Bowbells.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Arvid, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Alma) Rodin.
