Glenn Edward Carlson (58) was the eighth child of John Wilhelm Carlson and Ellen Christine Larson. He was born in Roseland Township, Burke Co. ND and moved with his family to Bowbells, ND at the age of two. He attended school in Bowbells.
He married Mary Ellen Williams on Sept. 9, 1958 in Westhope, ND. She was the daughter of Richard Linden Williams and Ellen Mae (Kirby) Williams of Westhope, ND.
They lived in Kenmare, ND while he worked for Calvert Drilling. From 1966-1970 he worked for the Kenmare Elevator and then Fairview Mill in Niobe, ND until 1975.
In 1975 he became employed by the Soo Line Railroad and the family lived in Kenmare, ND. Glen died in Carrington, ND at a motel where he was staying while working in the area. His funeral was in the Elmdale Lutheran Church in Niobe, ND.
Glenn and Ellen had four children:
1. Dianne Ellen Carlson m. Tim Lee Lesmann of Westhope, ND
2. Geraldine Rae Carlson m. Brian Dale Mehloff of Kenmare, ND
3. Bruce Edward Carlson m. Sandra Hiniker of Northfield, MN
4. Lynn Marie Carlson m. Kip John Helmers of Kenmare, ND
son: Lee Helmers(1989-2013)
