Katherine Niehus
Mrs. Ben (Katherine) Niehus, a lifelong Remsen resident passed away, May 7, at the Sacred Heart hospital. She was in failing health for sometime.

Mrs. Niehus was born February 13, 1888, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Deitermann. Her marriage to Ben Niehus took place June 3, 1913 at Remsen.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 10, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic church, Remsen with Msgr. F. P. Schultes, officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery, under the direction of the Fisch Funeral home.

Survivors include six sons, Cletus, of Castle Rock, Colorado; Raymond of Riverside, California; Edmund, Gilbert, LeRoy and Walter all of Remsen.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband on January 8, 1960 and her parents. Deceased was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Mary's.
